The names

I have started researching my family tree, on my father's side, having been prompted by a relative of my mother's who has researched her side of the family a long way back So far, I have traced my tree back to the following:
  • Bousfield (Durham - early 1800s)
  • Brown (Hexham - 1840)
  • Charlton (Northumberland - early 1800s)
  • Coxon (Northumberland - early 1700s)
  • Colbeck (Northumberland - early 1700s)
  • Irwin (Chester le Street, Durham, 1700s and Allendale, Northumberland, 1800s)
  • Philipson (Allendale, Northumberland, 1700s to 1800s)
  • Southern (one branch from Northumberland - early 1800s - and a second branch, also from Northumberland and who precede the Coxons and Colbecks - who go back to the early 1600s)
  • Revely (Northumberland - early 1800s)
  • Robson (Gosforth, Northumberland - early 1800s)
  • Proctor (Northumberland - early 1700s)
  • Tattersfield (Dewsbury, 1600s-1800s)
  • The names for which I have significant information each have a page of their own giving more information - and I have a lot more. Just click on the surname.
